This is primarily the family of William Heizer Richardson and Sarah Goslin. It is possible that Barnett Richardson is also in this cemetery. The Find-A-Grave link above will take you to their website. The information there seems to be accurate.
Two Civil War soldiers (Richardsons) who were KIA in the Battle of Dug Hill are buried here.
William Heizer Richardson was a Mexican War veteran who died in Puebla, Mexico while serving. He was the First Sgt in Company E, 4th Tennessee Infantry. His body was not returned from Mexico. A veteran's tombstone "in memory of" was placed next to his wife. He was the son of Andrew Heizer Richardson & Elizabeth McCoy of North Carolina.
William Heizer and wife, Sarah Goslin migrated to this area about 1832 from Craven County, North Carolina.
This is an inactive cemetery with no burials here since the burial of the two Civil War KIAs in 1864.
There are at least six graves here. Five are engraved. One with a limestone rock (Suspected to be Barnett Richardson). There could be others that are unmarked.
The Cemetery is on Mine Lick Creek without any good roads to get there. Out of Baxter, take Elmore Town Road. One tenth of a mile past POW Road, a farm road on what is known as the Herman Lee farm goes left off of Elmore Town Road. After turning off of Elmore Town Road it is about 9/10 mile to the Cemetery. Highly recommend not attempting without a 4WD vehicle and a good driver.
Matt Haggard maintains this cemetery by spraying with Round-Up twice per year. The cemetery has a good fence around it and its remote location helps provide security.
