Joseph Denton Roberts Family Cemetery

There are eight graves in this cemetery as of March 2025. There are three graves with engraved tombstones and five with slate or limestone rocks. There may be a few additional graves with no markers at all. I suspect that one or two of the graves are Uncle Dent's daughters but have no proof. This is an inactive cemetery at this time. There have been no burials here since Joseph Denton's wife, Silvia died on 22 Mar 1926.

Located .4 miles from14400 Old Baxter Road. This cemetery is way back in a field. After turning off Old Baxter Road at 14400 address, follow the driveway past the house and the Haunted Halloween site into the next field. The road will lead to the cemetery.

After Joseph Denton died, his widow grew into poverty and had to sell the land. She sold her last 25 acres to Robert Herrin in 1913 for $250, $75 in hand and seven yearly notes of $25 each.. This 25 acre parcel included the "family cemetery" which she excluded from the sale.

Angela (Roberts) Stout currently (2025) maintains this cemetery. Angela is not a descendant of Joseph Denton. If any of his descendants would like to take over the maintenance, Angela would be glad to give it up.
