The Caney Fork River is considered one of the best trout rivers in the state of Tennessee. Rainbow, Brown, and Brook trout are stocked in this majestic river, plus bass and as a special treat one might land a Walleye seasonally. Caney Fork, as it is called by people from here, has a trail water range from around 30’-90’ wide and a constant 55 degrees temperature due to the water flowing from below the dam that controls the flow and height of the river. Trout can be found mostly on the 26.5 mile stretch from the dam to the Cumberland River. But it is said that the best area is the first 5 miles below the dam. We who call Roberts Switch our home have this photographic river in our backyard. Let’s enjoy it and be thankful for the peaceful beauty of The Caney Fork.
