Loop, Texas Roberts Reunion 2022

Updated 21 Apr 2025 by Gracie Roberts

Roberts Family Reunion in Loop, Texas (4 September 2022)

There are Roberts’ cousins everywhere on this earth, even in Loop, Texas.  Loop is a small unincorporated farming community located in Gaines County near the New Mexico state line named for the loop of the postmaster’s lasso. The population is around 250 residents. Pumpkins were the primary crop we saw when we visited in 2022. Miles and miles of fields of bright orange pumpkins. It was harvesttime and the pumpkins presented great splashes of color to the normally dry brown landscape of west Texas.

If you want to see what Texas hospitality is… plan to attend the next Roberts Reunion in Loop.  The whole Humphrey Roberts family members (see group photo below) welcomed us with wide open arms as big as the state of Texas.  Tommy and I met up with our cousins from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Roy and Pat Roberts, to meet this new line of relatives. We plan to attend every time we can get out that way and highly recommend others do too.
