CRPA TASK LIST


Anyone desiring to help with restoration efforts may pick from the task list below. Some are very easy tasks, such as cleaning tombstones, so everyone should be able to contribute something. Let Anna know when you commit to a task so that she can prevent duplication of effort. Thanks again for everyone's help. Donations are also appreciated. Make checks to CRPA and send to Anna.

Anthony Bush Cemetery As of 25 Apr 2026

  1.  Needs a good mowing by Gunnar to clear away the small growth.

Richardson Cemetery: As per Apr 2026

1.       FAG: GPS good, pictures good, needs slight modification to description

2.       Trim limbs back on road leading to cemetery

a. New owner of property accomplished this during a regular clean-up of his property - Feb 26

3.       Remove small rocks laying around cemetery

4.       Put dirt over low areas and Mulberry tree roots

All restoration completed March 2026. Property has a new owner that is eager and willing to maintain the cemetery. A contract for mowing was already let for 2026 which will be honored. After that, the new property owner will take responsibility for maintenance. Yahoo!!!!


Ditty-Fergus Cemetery: As per Apr 2026

1.       FAG: GPS good, update description

3.       Awaiting spring to see what kind of grass stand we have and to begin mowing.

Henry Jones Family Cemetery: As per inspection of Nov 2025

1.       FAG: GPS good, description good, needs photo, change name to cemetery vice graveyard.

2.        Cemetery is in a northwest corner of property owners yard.  Owner mows the cemetery along with his lawn.  All good.


Joseph Roberts Family Cemetery: As per Apr 2026

1.        FAG: GPS good.  Revise description and change name from Roberts Graveyard to Joseph Roberts Family Cemetery.

Apple Cemetery: As per 3 Apr 2026

2.       Clean out fence row on outside of fence – low priority

a. Decided to not clean our the fence row on the outside of fence - 3 Apr 26

3.       Replace fence if necessary

4.       Remount gate on a new fence post.

5.       Trim around inside of fence line.

a. Angela did half of this last week in Feb. Still half to do.

6.      Ensure adequate stand of grass next spring

a. Grass stand is adequate. Some holes that might fill in later

7.       Shovel dirt from high spots into low spots.

  1. First mowing (by Gunnar) on 24 Apr 26. Looks pretty good but grass is thin. Mowed second time on 20 Jun. Grass thin - need to overseed this fall.

  2. Needs some dirt to level things up and resow.

    1. Ten ton of dirt delivered by Mark Pullum on 5 May 26. Gunnar contracted to spread dirt once it gets dry enough.

Farmer Cemetery: As per inspection of 29 Jan 2026

1.       FAG: GPS good, description good, needs cemetery picture

2.       Needs complete restoration.  Gunnar has been hired to do initial clean-up

Elmore-Richardson Cemetery: As per May 2026

Rhea Cemetery: As per inspection of Nov 2025.  This cemetery is fairly well maintained.  It may have a Board of Directors.  If so, we don’t need to be involved.

Richard Lee Cemetery: As per May 2026

1.     FAG: GPS coordinates need to be changed to 36.124235, -85.683679, description needs to be added.

2.       Some dirt needs to be placed in certain areas, over roots and in sunken places

3.       Trim back along fence line to include on outside portion of fence.

4.       Polish up path leading to cemetery from parking area.  Mow this path in the future.

John Harrison Roberts Family Cemetery As per inspection of May 2026.  Mike Herd maintains this cemetery and has done so for several years.  It is mowed regularly and is in fairly good condition. 

1.       FAG: GPS good, change name to Roberts Cemetery #2, add more pictures when restored

Silver Point Cemetery: As per 14 Mar 2026

1.       FAG: GPS change coordinates to 36.093683, -85.739587 Needs description.

2.       Needs complete restoration.  Some significant chainsaw work, etc.

a. On 21 Nov 2025, Gunnar Netherton was hired to do extensive initial cleanup. He plans to accomplish in mid December 2025.

b. Gunnar and crew did extensive cleanup on 11-12 Dec 2025.

3. Tombstones need level, plum, align and cleaned

a. All cleaned on 14 Mar 26 working (7 participants)

4. A few sunken spots need filling and high spot lowered.

5. Front fence row needs vines cleaned out

a. Treble Roberts accomplished on 14 May 2026

6. Pick up and dispose of all the small dead limbs that have blown off the trees

7. Hire stump grinder to grind about 20 stumps.

Hugh Wallace Cemetery: As per 30 May 26

  1. Need to start with Gunnar doing major work

    1. Gunnar estimated $900 on 26 May 26. Family members commited to donations. Gunnar plans to accomplish in June 26

  2. Tombstones need repairing, setting up and plumbing/leveling


Coleman Family Cemetery: As per inspection of Nov 2025

1.       FAG: GPS good, needs directions instructions

a. Anna updated description 11 Dec 25

2.       Needs complete restoration involving chain saws, etc.  Recommend hiring Gunnar for the first heavy effort.

3.       Clean all tombstones


Cooper Cemetery: As per inspection of Nov 2025

1.       FAG: Needs GPS, directions/description, name change to Cemetery vice Graveyard

Anna updated all on 11 Dec 25

2.       Needs complete restoration involving chain saws, etc.  Challenge is in getting to the location.  Must walk down/up steep, washed-out hill road from Pete Carr Ridge Road for a considerable distance.

Harris-Richardson Cemetery: As per inspection of Nov 2025

  1. FAG: GPS needs correcting.  Correct coordinates are 36.142214, -85.645021.  Need new description, need photo

James Madison Whitehead Gravesite: As per inspection of Nov 2025

1.       FAG: Needs GPS added – coordinates are 36.122198, -85.695147, needs description, needs photos

a. Ann updated GPS coordinates and description 11 Dec 25

2.       Needs complete restoration.  It is in the middle of the woods.  I need to verify that the tombstone is still there.

Mark Pullum informs me that the tombstone is still there and that he, Mark, places a Confederate flag at the tombstone once per year as James Madison fought for the Confederacy.


Jimmy Tucker Gravesite: As per inspection of Nov 2025

  1. FAG: GPS good, need cemetery photo, revise description, add memorial for Jimmy's sister Linda, change name to Jimmy Tucker Cemetery

    1. FAG Memorial added for Linda Tucker, Jimmy's sister, on 19 Nov 2025

    2. Anna updated description 11 Dec 25

  2. Needs clipping and a little chain saw work.

  3. Clean tombstone

  4. Consider adding a grave marker for Linda Tucker. She only lived a few hours. There is no death certificate on file.


Joseph R Lee Cemetery: As per inspection of Nov 2025

1.       FAG: GPS and photo good.  Needs description

a. Anna added description 11 Dec 25

2.       Needs total restoration.  Recommend hiring Gunnar to do first major effort.

3.       Level, plum, align tombstones.

5.       Consider tombstones for Mint and Sam


Old Clouse-Bumbalough Cemetery: As per inspection of Jun 2026

1.       In heavy woods so undergrowth is minimal. Need to hire Gunnar to mow up the small undergrowth or do it ourselves.

2. Tombstones needs working to align, plumb, level, clean

3. Verify GPS coordinates.

Jones Cemetery at Shady Grove:

  1. FAG: Need to verify GPS coordinates.

  2. Needs complete restoration including removal of undergrowth and cleaning of tombstones as a minimum.


Amonett Family Graveyard: As of Mar 2026

  1. Needs a good mowing by Gunnar or.......

  2. Clean, plumb tombstones

  3. Change name to Cemetery vice Graveyard

  4. Confirm GPS coordinates


John Tucker Family Cemetery: As of 15 Apr 2026

  1. Totally overgrown. Will need chainsaw and heavy clipping. Recommend contacting Gunnar to do initial work.

    1. Gunnar contracted to do the work within the next 3 weeks. Delayed because of weather. Not projected to be accomplished in June.

  2. Tombstones all knocked over. Need to be restored and cleaned

  3. Confirm GPS coordinates
